Vodafone has announced a downturn in profits for the six months leading up to September 2008.  The company reported EBITDA of £603 million, while revenues for the same period the year before were at £2,714 million. Overall Vodafone's profits were down by 14 per cent despite adding 207,000 new customers in the three months leading up to September.

Nokia's Comes With Music service promises a good deal for music lovers with its unlimited download subscription offer, and now the handset maker looks set to expand into videos and games. With content providers like Disney and Electronic Arts already expressing interest, this could put Nokia ahead of the game in mobile web services, and stepping up the challenge to Apple iTunes and, overall, to the per-item charging structure.
